The last concert at the “Encuentro NYC” Colombian music festival was outstanding. Nicolas Castaneda and his Llanero group performed music from the eastern plains of Colombia. The audience enjoyed and dancing Joropo as the traditional “parrando llanero” (dance party). Special thanks to Pablo Mayor & Anna Mayor for the invitation, Also thanks to Felipe Tehuitzil for this wonderful picture and of course my cats : Alexis Soto (Maracas), Jorge Glem (Cuatro), Carlos Pino (Acoustic Bass) and Lizje Sarria (voice).
On the other hand, the next coming project is going to be at the TV show “ music session” directed by Brian Kerby. This show will be recorded in Dedham MA on February 2017 and it will be available online by the middle of March – April. During this one-hour shoot, we are going to have lot of surprises; performance of my originals, discussions of the compositional techniques applied to the traditional Colombian music, treatment of contemporary sounds in traditional Colombian music and more!
